Niagara Falls is spectacular, but there is so much more to discover beyond the rushing water. If you're looking for a more relaxed way to experience Niagara, here are a few of my favourite ways to spend a day.
Start with a Slow Morning
One of my favourite things about living in Niagara is not having to rush out first thing in the morning.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then take your time getting ready for the day. If you're staying at Creekside, you can even start your morning by sitting outside and enjoying the view of Lyon's Creek.
Take the Scenic Route
Rather than heading straight from one attraction to another, take some time to enjoy the Niagara Parkway.
The drive along the Niagara River offers beautiful scenery and plenty of places to stop, walk and take photos.
Explore Beyond the Falls
Of course, the Falls are a must-see, especially if this is your first visit. But once you've experienced them, consider exploring some of Niagara's quieter attractions.
Depending on the season, you might spend an afternoon visiting a winery, exploring Niagara-on-the-Lake, cycling along the river, or simply enjoying one of the area's walking trails.
**Daphne's Tip: Don't try to fit everything into one day. Some of the best parts of Niagara are the moments when you aren't rushing to the next attraction.
End the Day by the Water
After a day of exploring, it's nice to have somewhere peaceful to return to.
At Creekside, guests can unwind in the backyard overlooking Lyon's Creek, enjoy the waterfront setting, and simply slow down for the evening.
That's one of the reasons I love hosting here. Niagara has plenty of excitement, but your stay doesn't have to feel busy.
